We are pleased to announce that Deanna L. Harris, SFLIC Vice President, achieved the Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) human resource credential from the Society of Human Resource Management organization (SHRM) on July 15, 2022. SHRM, headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, is the world’s largest HR membership organization, and widely considered to be the premier provider of professional credentials. The SHRM-CP is earned by meeting experience and education requirements, and by demonstrating HR competencies and knowledge requirements established by SHRM.
Ms. Harris, a native of Huntington Beach, California, and resident of Hot Springs, Arkansas, for the past 18 years, joined SFLIC in 2004 as HR Assistant. Today she is Human Resource & Payroll Coordinator, responsible for a range of key duties. She also assists in the SFLIC retirement plan administration.
Harris’ other certifications include Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI), earned through the worldwide LOMA organization dedicated to life insurance office management education, and the Certified Preplanning Consultant (CPC) achieved through the National Funeral Directors Association. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies from Northern Arizona University where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. Harris has been very active in the West Central Arkansas Society for Human Resource Management, having served in various positions of responsibility, including as president.
